The Team

Ok, so it’s not really a “team” yet, seeing that I’m currently the only working on things full-time. But that could easily change, especially if you’re a rockstar engineer looking to work on an exciting new consumer website.

I’m looking to fill two roles in particular: a PHP developer and an iPhone app developer. Both positions call for a high degree of coding proficiency, self-motivation, optimism, and communication ability. But most of all, they call for an incessant itch to make cool and useful things from scratch, since that’s what a startup is essentially all about.

The company is based out of San Francisco, although I’m receptive to candidates from all over. These are mainly full-time positions but part-time work is also available. If you’re interested in learning more, please contact me.

Mark Hendrickson

I’m the web developer working on both the front and back ends of Plancast. My interest in web design goes back to middle school, so I’ve been hacking away at this internet stuff for quite awhile now.

PHP in the LAMP stack is where I feel most comfortable under the hood (especially when couched in the beautiful OO programming framework provided by Symfony). On the front end, I enjoy tackling the powerful yet unstable worlds of Ajax and CSS.

As far as my bio goes, I was most recently a writer and web developer for TechCrunch, where I wrote over 500 blog posts and redesigned both the blog network and CrunchBase. I was fortunate to work on some of the first projects to leverage Yahoo BOSS and Facebook Connect. Before TechCrunch, I was at student at Bowdoin College in Maine. And before that, I grew up in Menlo Park, California.

More about me can be found on my blog Ursus Rex, my LinkedIn profile, or my Twitter account.

PHP Developer (You?)

Wanted: An excellent back-end programmer with considerable PHP experience who will help code the site. Experience with the Symfony framework is a major bonus, as is familiarity with MySQL, Unix system administration, or any other OO/MVC framework.

iPhone App Developer (You?)

Also wanted: An experienced mobile developer who can build a native iPhone application for Plancast. Preferably, this programmer would have enough PHP skill to build the site-based APIs necessary to power the application, as well as any other third-party services that want to exchange data with Plancast.
